1. Side Basic
Notes & Tips
- Small steps
- Lift the heel before stepping by pushing the ball of the foot into the floor and bending the knees. Step and place the ball of foot first before placing the heel down
- When stepping, step on the inside of the front of the foot. Whilst keeping just the inside of the foot in contact with the floor, roll back through the foot so the heel touches the floor, then roll the outside of the foot onto the floor

- Side-rock-step, side-together, side-rock-step, side-together
Steps
- Step sideways with the left foot
- Rock step
- Place the ball of the right foot next to and slightly behind the heel of the left foot
- Rock back on the ball of the right foot so the heel touches the floor
- Lift the heel of the left foot and step in place
- Cha Cha (quick movement)
- Step sideways with the right foot
- Bring the left foot together with the right foot
- Step sideways with the right foot
- Rock step
- Place the heel of the left foot next to and slightly forward of the toe of the right foot
- Rock forward on the heel of the left foot so that the whole foot touches the floor
- Lift the heel of the right foot and step in place
- Cha Cha (quick movement)

2. Single Crossover Break
Notes & Tips
- When doing a crossover, try to lead with the hand first so that it is always in front of the shoulder
- When pushing the hand in, have it outstretched and slightly below the elbow. Upon finishing, the arm should be kept strong

- Step sideways with the right foot
- Release the right hand and start to bring the left hand in
- Step across the right foot with the left foot whilst swivelling on the right foot to rotate/open the body
- At the end of the movement, the left hand should be in front of the body and slightly lower than the elbow. The right arm should be opened up in the air
- Cha Cha
- Swivel back on the right foot and step sideways with the left foot
- Bring the hands in front with the palms facing down
- Bring the right foot together with the left foot
- Swivel back on the right foot and step sideways with the left foot
- Second crossover
- Step sideways with the left foot
- Release the left hand and start to bring the right hand in
- Step across the left foot with the right foot whilst swivelling on the left foot to rotate/open the body
- At the end of the movement, the right hand should be in front of the body and slowly lower than the elbow. The left arm should be opened up in the air
- Cha Cha
- Swivel back on the left foot and step sideways with the right foot
- Bring the hands in front with the palms facing down
- Bring the left foot together with the right foot

- Release the right hand and start to bring the left hand in with a loose grip
- Step across the right foot with the left foot whilst swivelling on the right foot to rotate/open the body

- Swivel again on the left and right foot to turn around
- Sep sideways with the left foot
- Bring the right foot together with the left foot and bring the hands back into normal frame

- Step sideways with the left foot
- Right foot Rock step (step behind)
- Cha Cha
- Step sideways with the right foot then release the right arm starting to open it out (keep body facing the partner)
- Left foot Rock step (step behind)
- Place the ball of the left foot next to and slightly behind the heel of the right foot
- Rock back on the ball of the left foot so the heel touches the floor
- Lift the heel of the right foot and step in place

- Step sideways with the left foot whilst moving the right hand behind the back
- Lift the left hand for the lady to do an underarm turn

- Release the right hand and start to bring the left hand in
- Step across the right foot with the left foot whilst swivelling on the right foot to rotate/open the body
- Cha Cha
- Swivel back on the right foot and step sideways with the left foot
- Bring the hands in front with the left hand facing slightly down and the right hand in a high five position so that palms are touching
- Bring the right foot together with the left foot
- Swivel back on the right foot and step sideways with the left foot
- Second butterfly (the same as a 5th position break)
- Step sideways with the left foot
- Release the right hand and start to bring the left hand in
- Swivel on the left foot to rotate/open the body and step backwards with the right foot so that it is behind the left foot
- Cha Cha
- Swivel back on the left foot and step sideways with the right foot
- Bring the hands in front with the left hand facing slightly down and the right hand in a high five position so that palms are touching
- Bring the right foot together with the left foot
- Swivel back on the left foot and step sideways with the right foot
