Introduction Level (Figures 1-4)
1. Basic

Steps
- Step sideways with the left foot (swing the body into the motion)
- Step with the right foot in place
- Rock step
- Place the ball of the left foot behind the heel of the right foot and rock slightly on the ball of the left foot (the heel of the left foot should not touch the floor)
- Step in place with the right foot

- Three Single Swing Basic Figures with an underarm turn inbetween.
- When lifting arm up and putting arm down, keep it relaxed

Steps
- First Single Swing Basic
- Second Single Swing Basic
- Gently lift the left hand on the side left step
- Step slightly forward and sideways right with the right foot
- Gently lower the hand after the lady has finished their first underarm turn whilst completing the rock step
- Third Single Swing Basic
- Gently lift the left hand again on the side left step
- Step slightly backwards and sideways left with the right foot so it returns to where it was at that start of the Swing Basic figure
- Gently lower the hand back into normal position after the lady has finished their second underarm turn whilst completing the rock step

3. Release Break

Steps
- First Single Swing Basic
- Second Single Swing Basic
- Step sideways with the left foot and bring the left hand in towards the hip so that the elbow is bent
- Swivel anti-clockwise on the left foot and step sideways with the right foot to do a quarter turn. Also release the right arm
- Rock step
- Third Single Swing Basic
- Step sideways with the left foot back to where it was before the rock step whilst bringing the right arm back into normal position
- Swivel backwards on the left foot and step sideways with the right foot. Bring the left arm back into normal position

4. Lady’s Underarm Turn with Man Turning
Notes & Tips
- The first and second Basic Figures of the Lady’s Underarm Turn Figure are the same
- On the last basic, when lifting the hand, step sideways with the left and do an underarm turn

- Gently lift the left hand on the side left step
- Step in place with the right foot
- Gently lower the hand after the lady has finished their first underarm turn whilst completing the rock step
- Third Single Swing Basic
- Gently lift the left hand again and when there is space after the lady’s underarm turn, swivel on the left foot and do an underarm turn to face the opposite direction
- Rock step
- Fourth Single Swing Basic
- Gently lift the left hand again on the side left step
- Step in place with the right foot
- Gently lower the hand back into normal position after the lady has finished their underarm turn whilst completing the rock step
